Ok. It’s 11:05 p.m. I’m pretty tired. I’ve spent all day at work and have come home, gone for a run and have spent the evening typing away on the keyboard, adding tid bits like Gold Fields’ tour dates.
Anyways, sticking to my recent Metallica theme, here is some footage of prog-rockers Tool covering Metallica’s `Orion’ at the Big Day Out in Melbourne earlier this year. I know for a fact Tool don’t like fans recording their shows, so I kept this video brief and to the point. Truth is, this video really didn’t capture the vibe at the show anyways. With all the lighting and visual effects going on, coupled with the music, the band’s performance that evening was both epic, haunting and inspiring – a sonic journey of the senses (I even nabbed a signed Tool poster after the show. Another piece of memorabilia hanging in my trophy room).
Want something to mellow out to late at night as well? I recommend downloading Röyksopp’s `Shores of Easy’ over at Pitchfork for some late night, disco-inspired Scandinavian goodness.
good night.
