The 2011 Parklife lineup was announced yesterday and there’s plenty of electro, rock and electro/rock crossover goodness on offer.
The festival will wind its way around Australia, beginning in Melbourne on the 24th of September and concluding in Adelaide on the 3rd October.
This year’s lineup features another eclectic mix of artists, with everyone from Swedish pop darlings Little Dragon through to British rapping chavs The Streets.
A big point of interest for me personally is the inclusion of dance punk outfit Death From Above 1979 (pictured), who split in 2006 but announced they were reforming in February this year for a string of live dates. If you haven’t heard them before, go out and pick up a copy of You’re A Woman, I’m A Machine for a crash course in DIY scuzzy, metal-influenced, dance punk delivered via a simple drum and bass combo. It’s truly awesome stuff which I can’t wait to experience live.
